Haymanot Tesfa
 
 
Haymanot Tesfa, was born in Ethiopia, where she completed a diploma in painting at The School of Fine Arts. She has had various exhibitions in Ethiopia and the UK.



 
Haymanot uses mixed techniques and does still-life, portraiture and illustrative work. Three of her paintings were published in books. The first one is on the back cover of the Journal of Human Rights Practice, Volume 1 Number 1 in 2009. And the second two works are on the Front and back cover of a poetry book, “Whistling back” by Hubert Moore. And the most recent one is on the cover of a poetry book, "This Woman" by Nancy Charley, 2012.

In 2010 Haymanot decided to study Photography to gain more skill and now concentrates on still life photography which she is more interested on. Most of her photographs are influenced by her art works, including all the photographs in this exhibition which are based on Mothers with HIV aids.


 

As well as an artist and photographer Haymanot also a ‘World’ music singer and works with different bands in London.
